The European Alliance Group in the European Committee of the Regions has elected a new leadership team at its first meeting of the new mandate on 3 February 2025.
Nanette Maupertuis, President of the Corsican Assembly, has been elected as the new President of the group.
She will be joined by Tadeusz Truskolaski, Mayor of Białystok, Poland, who takes on the role of First Vice-President. Their mandate will run for two and a half years, guiding the group’s work on strengthening regional and local voices in the EU.
Under its new presidency, the European Alliance will continue to advocate for a stronger role for local and regional government, uphold the principle of subsidiarity, promote territorial cooperation, and celebrate Europe’s rich and diverse cultural and linguistic heritage.
The European Alliance Group extends its sincere gratitude to Karl Vanlouwe for his dedicated leadership over the past 2.5 years. His commitment and efforts have been instrumental in advancing the group’s priorities.
